Chinese herbal medicine is built on thousands of years of clinical testing and refinement. When prescribed by a trained practitioner, it is highly effective and remarkably safe. Herbs can be used to treat any health issue, from colds and flus to complex autoimmune disorders, dermatological conditions, and everything in between.

How Herbs Help
Chinese herbal medicine addresses the underlying causes of disease, not just the symptoms. The body is treated as a dynamic and integrated whole, with the ultimate goal of guiding the person back to health by restoring normal physiological processes.
Chinese herbal formulas work in a variety of ways:
~ Balancing and harmonizing the body to restore overall equilibrium ~ Warming, nourishing, or strengthening where there is weakness ~ Removing obstructions that are preventing proper circulation ~ Calming overactivity or reactivity to prevent exhaustion
Chinese herbal medicine combines these approaches in a way that is tailored to each patient's unique needs. Formulas are structured so that each herb plays a specific role, accentuating, controlling, and guiding the effects of the others.
Taken regularly, Chinese herbal medicine can support the body in many ways, including:
~ Relief from colds, flus, and allergies ~ Reduced pain ~ Improved quality of sleep ~ Stronger digestion ~ Greater emotional balance
Your herbal prescription may remain unchanged for weeks or months depending on whether your condition is acute or chronic, the overall state of your physical and mental health.
The Herbs We Use
Herbal formulas can be administered in several different ways, including raw form, as granules, as liquid extracts, or in pill form. At Great Nature Oriental Medicine, we stock over 120 of the highest quality individual herbs in a granule form, which are raw herbs that have been precooked, dried, and ground into a powder. This powder is mixed with hot water, allowed to cool, and consumed. It couldn't be simpler or more convenient for the patient.
